I've been learning about Ruby Bridges in Reading. The part I know the most about is how she was treated badly on the first day at her new school. The part that is the most confusing is how the President of the U.S. got to know about her. I'd like to know more about this topic so that I will know how she managed to stay in the school. This topic reminds me of the first day at my new school and how I felt shy.

ReplyDeleteI also learned about her in my history class at home. I watched a movie on Ruby once and it was very sad. I also wonder why some people could be so cruel to a little girl just because of her skin color! She was a very brave girl and a really admire her.
ReplyDeleteKingsly, I felt the same when I entered this school and in a few minutes I was lucky to fight my fear. I didn't know anyone's name at first so I started asking names each time I met a person even the same ones! I remember the day I would ask Amber's name all the time. I am writing while thinking of that day. It's like a movie scene.
