Queen Elizabeth

I've been learning about Queen Elizabeth. Knowing this topic helps me know the kind of people I should look up to. Queen Elizabeth is one person who has fought for the Christianity is the world. The part I know the most about is how she fought with the former queen, Mary, and how cruel she was. The part that is most confusing is why Queen Elizabeth didn't fight back towards her sister, Mary, because of all the bad things they did to her. I'd like to know more about her brother, Edward II.

Navajo Wars

I've been learning about Navajo Wars.  This topic reminds me of how the British colonized Uganda and there were hundreds of wars.  The part I know the most about is when the Mexicans killed all the Apaches and Navajos and took all the women and children and enslaved them.  The part this is the most confusing is why they had to bring war to these peaceful tribes.  I would like to know more about the Native Americans and how they got their independence.

Henry the VIII

I've been learning about Henry the VIII.  Know about this topic helps me see why we have so many different churches. (Henry established the Anglican Church.)  This topic reminds me of the story of an arrogant king I read about.  The part I know most about is how many wives he had.  He had six wives!  The most confusing part is why any man would ever want to deal with that many women.  I think that would be quite a handful!

Factors

I've been learning about factors in Math class.  Know about this topic helps me work more and do better with my multiplication and division, too.  The part I know the most about is how to write down factors using prime factorization which I this is easier.  This topic reminds me of working math by multiplying; it helps me get to know it better because it involves a lot of multiplication.  I'd like to know more about how to factorise huge numbers faster instead of wasting so much time to get one factor.

New Words

I've been learning about how words change and are invented in Reading.  Knowing about this topic helps me have fun making new words.  This topic reminds me of how sometimes I make sounds and pretend they are words.  The part I know the most about is that you need to make people say your word.  I'd like to know more about how to make new words so I can really make new words.

Samuel de Champlain

I've been learning about Samuel de Champlain in Social Studies.  The part that is the most confusing is why are they all looking for a pathway across North America to go to the Spice Islands?  I'd like to know more about other explorers.  The part I know the most about is how he found the Great Lakes.  This reminds me of Christopher Columbus when he found America.

Solving Equations

I've been learning about how to solve equations in Math.  This topic reminds me of solving equations when I was in fifth grade, except these are harder, like n - (-2) = -2.  The part I know the most about is how to plug numbers into the equations.  The part that is the most confusing is how to check your work.  I am still figuring that out.  I'd like to know more about how to solve equations with negative and positive numbers.

The Digestive Process

I've been learning about the digestive process in Science.  Knowing about this topic helps me know better what happens in my body after I've eaten and what effects certain foods have on my stomach and body.  This reminds about how the Pilgrims were going to the New World.  The way my food travels is like a journey that is rough, just like the Pilgrims'!  I'd like to know more about what happens after the food is digested, like where it goes next.  The part I know the most about is when the food leaves the mouth and travels down the esophagus.

Zipporah, 7th grade

I've been learning about how clouds form in Science class.  Knowing about this topic helps me know what clouds can send storms like nimbostratus clouds which produce snow or rain.  This topic reminds me of the time I saw nimbostratus clouds coming towards where I was and it suddenly rained.  The part I know the most about is that clouds form from water vapor in the air.  I'd like to know more about cirrus clouds because they are really thin and beautiful.

AJ, 5th grade

Fractions

I've been learning about fractions in Math.  The part I know the most about is how to reduce fractions to the lowest terms.  Knowing about fractions helps because if I want to cut a cake and the fraction is 6/12, I can convert it and it will be 1/2.  So I know I can cut the cake in half.  I'd like to know more about fractions so it can help me cook, like if it says I need 1 3/4 cup flour.  This topic reminds me of giving away.  For example, if I had a pizza and I cut it in 6 pieces and I give away 3 the fraction is 3/6 or 1/2.

Hosea and Gomer

I have been learning about how Hose married Gomer, a prostitute and still loved her, as God loves his people. The hardest thing to understand was why Hosea would have so much patience to some who didn't deserve it like, Gomer. I think nobody would have that much love and patience to someone who is completely unfaithful to him/her. Even harder is to understand why God would love such a sinful race like us, so I won't even begin to question why, just thank Him.
