Smoking

I've been learning about smoking and its effects in Science class. Knowing about this topic helps me know the harm smoking can cause to the body and how to say NO to friends that push people into smoking because I know smoking can lead to trouble for the rest of your life. This topic reminds me of when someone smoking blew the smoke on me when I was in the airport. I felt bad and scared but didn't really know why. The part i know the most about are the substances tobacco is made up of which are nicotine, tar, and carbon monoxide and how they can affect the respiratory system. I'd like to know more about passive smoking (or "second hand smoking") and how it can affect the body and how to prevent it.

  1. In Tunis, its very hard to stay away from people who smoke because a lot of people in Tunis smoke and some people get affected by it: like their children, and sometimes you might also see young teenage boys smoking as well. Thats also an example of passive smoking or second hand smoking.

  2. This topic reminds me of when my doctor told me if you smoke you will have lung cancer and you will die.

  3. Smokers may sometime want to quit but for some they can't because they're addicted to cigarettes. So i think its best to not start smoking at all. You can also get diseases like lung cancer, emphysema, and chronic bronchitis.
