Benjamin Franklin

I've been learning about Benjamin Franklin in Social Studies class. Knowing about him helps me know what he invented that we use today, like the bifocals. This topic reminds me of another inventor, Thomas Edison, who invented something very important that we use today, the light bulb. The part I know the most is that he loved traveling and publishing stories. I'd like to know more about how he became so famous that he appears on the 100 dollar bill.

Thanksgiving

I've been learning about Thanksgiving in Bible class. Knowing about this topic helps me appreciate and give thanks to God whatsoever because He knows what is best. This topic reminds me of when someone died when I was a little kid and there was this pastor praying and thanking God. I told myself, "What is the point of thanking God when someone is dead?" I thought the pastor didn't like the man when he was alive so he was happy and thankful that he was dead. The part I really find confusing is in some case it's really hard to give thanks. So if you don't give thanks in that case does God understand? I'd like to know more about the Psalms of Praise, Thanksgiving, and whether Hannah fulfilled her promise to God happily or sadly.

Rebecca, Grade 8

Electric Charges

I’ve been learning about electric charges in Science. Knowing about this topic helps me know how electric charges can go onto you. This topic reminds me of when I rubbed against the table and felt an electric charge. The part that is most confusing is how do you feel an electric charge when a friend touches you? I mean you cannot feel “zaps” coming in you. I’d like to know more about those charges and how you can feel them.

Edmond, Grade 3

Geometry

I've been learning about Geometry in Math. Knowing this helps me build with forms if I want to make a card, house, picture, etc. This topic reminds me of when I was in 2nd grade and built with triangles and how I learned the different shapes again. The part that is most confusing is to make angles by myself, because it must be the same exact angle. I'd like to know more about how I can use what I have learned.

Filip, Grade 7

Hannah and Her Baby

I've been learning about Hannah in Bible. The part that is most confusing is why didn't she have a baby int he first place? I'd like to know more about Hannah's baby if he ever missed his parents when he grew up. Knowing about this topic helps me know that God answers prayers. This topic reminds me of when I saw a show about kids acting out the story of Hannah.

Amber, Grade 4

Revolutionary War

I've been learning about the Revolutionary War in Reading class. Knowing about this topic helps me understand why the American wanted to be free and break away from English rule. The part I know the most about is how unfair and greedy the British were and how meanly they treated the colonists. The part that is the most confusing is why the British were forcing the colonists to follow them. They were fighting with the colonists and not allowing them to have their own government. I'd like to know more about how the Revolutionary War ended.

Zipporah, Grade 7

Morse Code

I’ve been learning about the Morse code in Phonics. Knowing about this topic helps me be able to write a secret message to a friend that knows it too. This topic reminds me of when I read a book and it gave me a card that has the Morse code on it. The part I know the most about is that the code is made up of dots and dashes. The part that is most confusing is how to space the letters in the word.
